Ashland Pond is my favorite local birding location. It’s also the place that I’ve spent the most time birding. It’s a super convenient location that allows 20 minute visits as well as 4 hour long visits. It has a great variety of habitats including meadows, wetlands, and oak woodlands. In winter it provides great waterfowl and raptor viewing and in the spring it has almost all the migratory birds you might want to see.
